2. Our legends tell how the eerie blue glow had gradually spread
Around Sol 3 like a creeping malaise
Then the desperate race to evacuate the planet
Came on like a planetary DMT rush.

3. Millions succumbed to the effects of the irradiated water
The blue snow blanketed the north
Then came the pole shift
Melting remorselessly into the south.

4. Returning through velvet black,
After a thousand millennia
We could have stayed in our refuge
Many light-years from the solar system,
But the urge was too strong
To return to the planet that birthed our species.

5. All our eyes are fixed on the scanners to see if
The mountains and valleys are alive with the Cherenkov effect
